The Rossbrand is one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in the Eastern Alps and offers magnificent views of the Dachstein and over 150 Alpine peaks as far as the Hohe Tauern.

If you get up early after snowfall and take one of the first cable cars up at 9.00 am, you can experience an atmosphere that can only be compared to the forests of Scandinavia: deeply snow-covered trees and an unspoilt landscape.

The high-altitude cross-country ski trail on the Rossbrand is known by insiders as a real gem. It is groomed daily and has an attractive terrain and the best cross-country skiing conditions. The trail can be reached via the Papageno Cable Car from the centre of Filzmoos.

An der Höhenloipe am Rossbrand (in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft zur Bergstation der Papageno Gondelbahn) wurde ein neues Servicegebäude mit Umkleiden, Spinden, Toiletten, … für Langläufer, Skitourengeher und Winterwanderer errichtet.

Das Langlaufhaus Rossbrand ist während der Betriebszeiten der Papageno Gondelbahn frei zugänglich. Für die Nutzung der Spinde wird eine Gebühr eingehoben.
Die Höhenloipe am Rossbrand bietet schneesicheres Langlaufen, gemütliches Winterwandern & idyllisches Schneeschuhwandern auf einer Seehöhe von 1.600 bis 1.800 m.
16 Kilometer perfekt gespurte Loipen (Klassisch und Skating), romantische Winterwanderwege und ein einzigartiges Bergpanorama mit einer 360 Grad Aussicht erwarten dich.
Zur Einkehr am Rossbrand bieten sich an: Schörgi Alm (an der Bergstation der Papageno Gondelbahn), Karhütte und Radstädter Hütte.
Mit der Erweiterung des Serviceangebotes am Rossbrand unterstreicht Filzmoos seine Kompetenz als Nordisches Zentrum der Salzburger Sportwelt.

A new service building with changing rooms, lockers, toilets, ... for cross-country skiers, ski tourers and winter hikers has been built on the Rossbrand High Alpine Trail (right next to the Papageno Cable Car mountain station).
The Rossbrand Cross-Country Cabin is freely accessible during Papageno Cable Car operating hours. A fee is charged for the use of the lockers.

There are two great places to stop for refreshments on the Rossbrand - the Schörgi Alm (at the mountain station of the Papageno gondola) and the Radstädter Hütte. With the expansion of the service offer on the Rossbrand, Filzmoos underlines its competence as the Nordic centre of the Salzburger Sportwelt.
